Book Review (kind of)

This is kind of just an update post, but I’ve been listening to “The Routine Machine” by John Lamerton, a British writer and business owner who is all about creating routines to help you reach your goals and have a healthy work/life balance. As a self-employed person, I don’t necessarily stick to the 9-5 timings as I can’t do that with my chronic illness, I’d burn out straight away. Lamerton suggests working with your circadian rhythm instead of society’s standard, as then you get your work done when you’re naturally the most productive.

Another thing that I have started to use is his “Planner for World Domination” which gets you to focus on 1 big thing that will help you to progress each week, using a 90-day plan. This way, I know that as long as I achieve that one thing, breaking it down into smaller “1 big thing” tasks each day, I am on track with my projects. So far, I have found that this has taken a load of pressure and stress off me and I feel more confident going forward. Combining all of this with the tools I learned from “The Artists’ Way”, I feel like my creative ideas are more likely to turn into reality.

Speaking of projects, I will be analysing the survey results for the neurodiverse-friendly resources this week. However, it’s not too late! I will be keeping the survey open and checking regularly to inform how I approach subjects. If you haven’t had your say yet, here is the link. I’d love to hear about your experiences.
